Mont Royale - The view from up here

One sunny afternoon this summer, while in Montreal, we took a walk to the top of Mont Royal...

We enjoyed the view...

... in all directions

I took artsy shots of flags...

... and the "wildlife"

We had a very tasty picnic of cheese, charcuterie, baguette, and wine...

The boys played petancle (french bocce)...

... look at that form!

Us girls finished the wine and tried to keep the seagulls away from our picnic. I think this one is pouting.
We had such a great time in Montreal, and are so thankful to our fabulous hosts. If only the visits weren't so few and far between.

Happy Friday!

Or in the words of some of my dearest friends... It's Friday b*tches!! (long story)

I hope everyone is celebrating the end of the week with good friends or family, good food, and a good glass of wine or beer... or your preferred beverage. It's the weekend, take a load off. :)

Can you say wine sampler? Yes, please!!

I didn't anticipate the servings would be this big!

Me! So happy with my sampler - by Jeffrey

At one of the McMenamins' pubs in Portland, Oregon

Jeffrey looking handsome (as usual)

Jeffrey's beer - they do their own beer & spirits too! And lunch.

We also bought a bottle of their syrah to bring home with us. We opened it this weekend with Jeffrey's parents who were visiting from Alberta... it was a beautiful bottle of red! We have added a visit to their historic Edgefield hotel/winery/distillery/spa/golf course to our "must-do" list.

S is for Stop, Seagull & Sun Speckled

I can't even begin to tell you how busy my life seems right now. I can't tell you, because I simply don't have the time. I am actually super lucky that I even remembered to submit and post my photos for the letter S in the Film26 Project. Lucky S is a very easy letter... maybe a little too easy, it was hard to decide on which ones to actually submit.

S is for...

Stop!... Collaborate and listen

Osheaga Music Festival

I have SO many photos from our summer holidays that I barely know where to begin with posting and organizing them! Since all the photos from our one day at the Osheaga Music Festival in Montreal were from the same event and camera, it is an easy place to start.

We didn't quite get to see as many bands as I had originally thought, but we had a fantastic time and the headliner, Florence and the Machine, really delivered! It was a hot sticky mess all day long, but it was fun and oh the people watching! That was nearly as entertaining as the music itself.

All photos taken with my Olympus Pen F and Ilford HP5 Plus 400 black & white film.

Moi - Photo by Jeffrey (pictured in the reflection of my sunglasses)

Fun. was, super FUN! They really put on a great show.

Cute Frenchman - a.k.a. Matt

Sexy Canadian Girl - a.k.a. Erin

More Fun.

Down with Webster - which I am not so much.

Mmmmm poutine - to cure what ails ya (*ahem* wine usually)

Hey, are those movie stars??

Oh nope, just our adorable hosts while in La Belle Province

Jeffrey - so serious for a rock show! But still so handsome.

Who goes to an all day music festival without a hat? This girl! (Good thing I had a scarf)

The sun begins to set and the crowds continue to grow

Just before Florence and the Machine take the stage

Florence lights up the night! And I have never seen a crowd this big before!

Merci Osheaga, Erin, Matt, Jeffrey and all the artists for an awesome day.

Bicycle blossom beauties

Yesterday I posted this first photo of a bike turned planter as one of my submissions for the Film26 Project (R is for Red). Here are more pictures of bikes turned planters that I have found around town. I rather like the look but do hope that these bicycle beauties were no longer salvageable as transportation before they were made permanently immobile.
